ProLift Toyota Material Handling Company is in search for a Technical & Safety Trainer to assist in training and development of all ProLift Service Technicians & provide safety training to external operators.  Successful Trainer will assist in improving customer satisfaction by increasing our technician’s overall knowledge levels and diagnostic skills.  Trainer will travel to customer location throughout Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio to provide operator safety training.

Job Responsibilities (but not limited to:) 

  • Assist in establishing each service technician’s skill level and develop an individualized training/skill improvement plan
  • Conduct Toyota technical training classes
  • Provide operator safety training as requested
  • Assist all ProLift locations in matters concerning safety
  • Promote safety to all ProLift’s employees and customers
  • Assure that all training tools and materials are available for scheduled classes                            
  • Develop and conduct other training classes, including development of training materials
  • Conduct ProLift’s technical training programs in house or at customer locations on a fee basis
  • Assist CSC’s in providing special orientation training to newly hired technicians
  • Assist in developing training aids as needed
  • Recommending safety policy and procedure changes to improve overall safety for our employees
  • Assist CSCs in internal and external incidence investigations including field visits as needed
  • Provide technical support; diagnostics and problem solving to chronic extraordinary equipment failure for all ProLift’s service operations including telephone and field visits
  • Provide the above support for ProLift’s customer maintenance operations by telephone and through field visits as needed
  • Provide technical information to all associates including Sales Representative, CSS, parts specialist, and others as needed
  • Assist in training of New Equipment and CSS Representatives.  For example, mechanical comparisons of our equipment vs. competitors
  • Investigate product problems and communicate with ProLift’s CQE Representative and vendors to provide service information to assist vendors in implementing improvements to the products we represent
  • Maintain a technical support log to identify areas in need of improvement
  • Participate in and promote ProLift’s Customer Satisfaction program
  • Assist in evaluating special tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Attend vendor and other training programs to stay current on technical advances and training skills
  • Assist with developing and providing supervisor and management training, and related training materials
  • Manage customer service initiatives (Used Voice of the Customer and Loyalty Guarantee) Promote ProLift’s philosophies, vision, strategies, and value of “Doing the Right Thing”
  • TLM “’Toyota Lean Management” philosophy
  • Protects organizations values by keeping information confidential and ability to handle sensitive information

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • High School, College/Vocational schooling preferred
  • Five years’ experience with training  and  technical knowledge
  • Good mechanical aptitude and background
  • Good leadership skills and communication skills
  • Microsoft computer knowledge preferred
  • Must be able to make decisions and work with constant interruption. 
  • Attention to details and must be able to work efficiently without close supervision
  • Employee may reside in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio
  • Must be able to travel throughout Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio
