ProLift Toyota Material Handling Company is searching for a successful Lead Shop Technician located within TMMI (Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana).  Successful Lead Shop Technician / Mechanic will coordinate activity, provide administrative support for the Technicians in TMMI and be able to perform repairs on Forklifts and Industrial Equipment.  Successful Lead Shop Technician will provide leadership and direction to improve department’s effectiveness.  Lead Technician will control service repairs with available resources, promote our services and products with the goal of becoming an "Indispensable Partner".  Position is located in Princeton, IN at TMMI; Monday – Friday, 1st shift.

Job Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Coordinate shop jobs with Technicians
  • Project a positive image by interacting with fellow employees, customers and management in a cooperative, supportive and courteous manner
  • Maintain adequate and accurate parts inventory assigned
  • Perform the service job on time and right the first time
  • Repair and service lift trucks and other equipment
  • Diagnose problems
  • Bill 40 to 50% of their time
  • Obtain parts and technical information needed to repair equipment
  • Assist with the training of new technicians
  • Accurately and legibly complete paperwork such as work orders, time cards, support information, etc. and turn in on a timely basis
  • Operate lift trucks and equipment as required
  • Read and comprehend technical manuals
  • Use proper test equipment for troubleshooting
  • Close out all service tickets in a timely, profitable manner
  • Keep current on product bulletins and training.
  • Accurately communicate appropriate information to those who need to know on a timely basis

  • Protects organizations values by keeping information confidential and ability to handle sensitive information

Education/Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years’ mechanical experience preferred
  • 1 to 3 years Management preferred
  • Proficient with Computer/Tablet skills 
  • Mechanical aptitude and service experience required
  • Must be able to make quick, informed decisions and work with constant interruption
  • Good leadership and listening skills
  • Must be comfortable working with internal and external customers
  • Must follow-up appropriately with customers and pay attention to details
